Test-Driven Approach to Solve Testing Pain

Test-Driven Approach to Solve Testing Pain at PHP Conference Sendai 2019
-
Design decisions from discomfort
-
In an approach where tests are written after implementation, you might feel discomfort in design when tests are hard to write, but with TDD, getting used to it might be necessary.
Efforts in a Legacy PHP Application Replacement Project

Efforts in a Legacy PHP Application Replacement Project / phpconsen2019
-
The legacy level seemed "overwhelming," making it hard to stay motivated...
-
Even if it's not "overwhelmingly" legacy now, it will become so if left unattended, so I vowed to actively maintain it when I sense a legacy smell.
Techniques for Considering Recurrence Prevention
- Techniques for Considering Recurrence Prevention / #phpconsen
- I want to adopt the attitude that "system failures are learning opportunities."
- I thought it was good that they were reviewing recurrence prevention measures across teams.
- It's not necessary to limit it to the most related team; knowledge should be shared asynchronously.
Review Culture in a Startup's Sixth Year
- Review Culture in a Startup's Sixth Year.pdf
- Our company's review culture
- I thought reviews are refined to suit the team members.
- Reviews are essentially communication, and they reflect the team members' characteristics, which is interesting. However, without discipline in communication, it directly affects members' motivation and product quality, so I want to work hard to create a good culture.
- There were relatively many questions.
Mastering PHP Middleware
- Mastering PHP Middleware
- It was the best and most understandable presentation for me.
- It was easy to understand that closures add behavior.
- I didn't know much about PSR-15...
Trying to Implement PSR
Trying to Implement PSR- I wanted to learn PSR by implementing it.
Social Gathering
- The social gathering LT was interesting.
- I was able to talk with some of the speakers.
- I was able to talk more closely with more people than at the previous Tokyo conference.
- Many people said they would also attend LaraCon, so I'm looking forward to meeting them at the next conference.
Impressions
I went for 3 days and 2 nights. It seems there was interaction among participants from the day before, as usual, so I wish I had gone earlier...
Since it was the first time held in Sendai, I think the organizers had a lot of challenges, but the content was so good that the 500 yen participation fee seemed too cheap.
It seemed like half were locals and half were from out of town, with many familiar faces from Tokyo among the out-of-towners. I intended to actively talk to various people, but perhaps due to time constraints, I regret not being able to talk much with locals...
