Is the Light On? The Anthropology of Problem Discovery is a book I recently read.
It seems to be considered a classic.
When I finished reading it, I felt somewhat unsatisfied or like it didn’t quite resonate with me. However, after some time passed and I reflected on it, I feel like I’ve come to better understand the message of the book.
The idea that "finding problems is harder than solving them, and misidentifying the problem makes the solution meaningless" may seem obvious, but surprisingly, we often forget this fundamental truth when facing problems.
