I read The Complete Guide to Health Technology.

This book is strongly focused on evidence-based health.

It is organized based on a perspective and understanding of evidence, and the sheer volume of references is overwhelming.

The chapter on food takes up the most pages, which is appreciated since diet is one of the most important factors for health.

Regarding food, I felt that it’s better to think of it not in terms of good or bad for health, but rather in terms of high or low risk. There were many parts that served as useful references for a risk-on/risk-off mindset based on evidence.

In the first half, habits are also touched upon, and I understand that habits are so crucial to health that one might say, "Health is habit."

To control "habits" (i.e., to become healthier), it is necessary to reconsider decision-making and actions. The book discusses various methodologies and ideas that would be helpful even outside the theme of health.

I pride myself on having a reasonable level of awareness and standards regarding health, but after reading this book, I found valuable insights for further improving my health habits.

The final chapter, "Emotions Create Health," was surprisingly intriguing. I have only recently begun to understand the positive and negative aspects of emotions (the impact of emotions on behavior) after living for 30 years, and it’s fascinating to learn that emotions also affect health.

I initially thought this book could serve as a reference, but upon finishing it, I realized that health-related research is constantly being updated, so I need to rethink my approach of passively accepting information. (Thus, continuous learning is essential.)

The title seems appealing to engineers, so it might be a good idea to discreetly place it in the IT section of bookstores!
